The Uttar Pradesh government has started a new rule for students. To get free tablets and smartphones, students must now use Aadhaar verification through the Digishakti portal. This new rule aims to make the process smoother and faster. Here’s a simple guide to help you complete the eKYC process.

What is Digishakti Portal and Why is Aadhaar Verification Important?

Once your Aadhaar is successfully verified, the Verify through the Login Using e-Pramaan MeriPehchaan button will disappear, and your status on the Digishakti website will show as Verified.

Step 11: What to Do if Your Verification Fails

If your status shows Failed, it means there’s a mismatch between your data on the Digishakti portal and your Aadhaar. Here’s what to do:

  • Contact your Institution Nodal Officer to update the incorrect information on the Digishakti portal, or
  • Make the necessary changes to your Aadhaar card details.

Once the changes are made, your data will go through the verification process again, starting with approval from your institution, then your university, and finally, a lock by the department.

After these corrections, you’ll be able to try Aadhaar verification again.

What Happens After Verification?

  • If your status is Verified, your data will be visible to your institute. They’ll forward it to the District Nodal Officer, who will approve it so you can receive your device.
  • If your data has already been sent to the district, it will be visible at the District Nodal Officer level for selection.

What If the Details Don’t Match?

If the information (like your name, gender, or date of birth) on the Digishakti portal doesn’t match your Aadhaar details, you’ll see an alert. The mismatched details will be highlighted.
